Pyridine p-toluene sulfonate (PPTS) CAS: 24057-28-1 is a mild, laboratory - ready acid catalyst widely used in organic synthesis.PPTS can be seen simply as a substitute for toluenesulfonic acid, and all reactions performed with toluenesulfonic acid can also be performed with PPTS.However, it has more advantages than toluenesulfonic acid in the use. For example, toluenesulfonic acid is generally in the form of a hydrated crystal, while PPTS is anhydrous.Toluenesulfonic acid has a strong acid, but the acid of PPTS has no obvious effect on many acid-sensitive functional groups.
